On Wednesday last week we got to build with thousands of pieces of lego at the House of bricks in our school hall.
We spent nearly two hours building towers, dream homes and vehicles with all of the lego! Lots of us were very creative, take a look at what we built... This week we drew pictures of our favourite animals from Orana park and we also wrote stories about them. Take a look!
Last Tuesday we went on a trip to Orana Park. When we got to the Zoo we met the Zoo keepers. They looked after us all day and showed us the animals. We saw kiwis, cheetahs, tigers, gorillas, monkeys, rhinos, lions, gibbons, keas and giraffes. Our favourite part of the trip was feeding the giraffes. The giraffes had very long necks and black tongues. We feed them sharp leaves. When we were feeding them we had to stand very still like statues so that they would eat the leaves off us. A big thank you to all the parents who came along and looked after us! By Kakano 1 This week Miss Shannon brought in some colourful flowers to brighten up our outdoor space.
A small group of us decided to plant the flowers in our planter boxes outside the classroom. We carefully removed the plants from their pots and planted them in the soil. Then we gave the flowers a good drink of water and made sure they were in lots of sunlight so that they can grow well! Kia Ora everyone and welcome to our new class blog! We will update this blog each week with different learning stories from Kakano 1!
